Designer

I grew up in Miami, went to college in Illinois, and for good measure spent another 10 years there before returning to Florida and ending up at the Times. I worked for two years as a sports clerk before moving to the design desk. Started my career in journalism at Southern Illinois University, covering the almighty Salukis for five years before moving on to be the sports editor (translation, entire staff) at a trio of weeklies in the area. I then transitioned away from the playing fields to a copy editor/design job at the Southern Illinoisan for six years before finally escaping the cold. When not at the office, I'm usually rooting for my mediocre Miami teams, wishing I was as cool as Deadpool or Boba Fett, or watching some amazingly horrible SyFy movie.
